Reviewing PC hardware video reviewers

In YouTube I have subscriptions to some PC hardware video reviewers/bloggers and in this blog post I will write my own critic review of them.

This is a personal opinion and I am sure a lot would disagree or agree with me.

This is also a post to help you get to know these reviewers as they can help you make a better PC purchase decision.

3dGameMan - 3dGameMan who is Rodney Reynolds probably has the most video reviews and he also been around the longest I believe, since 1998, before YouTube, he usually reviews power supplies, computer cases, cpu coolers and video cards.

PROS - A lot of video reviews, his case reviews are probably the best and they can really help you decide what case to buy by watching his reviews,

Rodney has become a professional video reviews maker, he probably make more videos a week than anyone else, every CPU cooler review shows you how to install the cooler which is very helpful.

A lot of helpful tips and purchasing advice.

CONS - Repetitive, many reviews feel exactly the same, especially power supply reviews and memory reviews, always hearing about how rails work in a power supply or how DDR memory work can be boring after you watch 2-3 videos about the same product category.

No comparison to the competition, a review about a video card , case or power supply will never be compared to it's competition, for example, you watch a review about a case or a video card, 3dgameman won't tell you how it's price or performance is compared to the competetion.

Every review is like an overview of a single product, no help is given to you about whether this video card is a better buy than the other video card for the same money.

LinusTechTips / NCIXcom - Linus can be seen on his personal channel and the Canadian computer store NCIX YouTube channel.

PROS - Linus is a good presenter, very accessible to the viewer and talking well infront of the camera, in his personal channel you can see a lot unboxing products videos and in NCIX channel you get helpful computer tips tutuorials and guides and sometimes he will even do comparison of HDD vs SDD for example.

CONS - Wish it had more product roundups that compare products seeing which one is best for the money, not enough guides on how to install CPU coolers or Video card coolers.

Maxishine - Maxishine feels like a hobby personal channel that's worth checking out.

PROS - Interesting videos showing water cooling parts, interesting computer setups with multi displays and full computer gear, some video card comparisons, nice setups of the newest hardware, there are also some game reviews.

CONS - Videos are not uploaded often, but that's ok since it's better to have small amout of videos than many videos that are not interesting.

Tjharlow Tjharlow is another "personal" hobby type of video channel showing you cool computer buildings.

PROS - Expert cable management tips, interesting computer builds with high quality computer parts and overclocking tips including an excellent CPU lapping guide for those who don't care about losing their CPU warranty

CONS - Since this channel is only made mostly as a hobby and on spare time there aren't many videos.

Trubritar - Mostly video card and water cooling reviews.

PROS - Professional water cooling video card blocks installation tips, excellent video card comparison tests, interesting Nvidia 2 way and 3 way SLI tests vs ATI Crossfire tests, some overclocking guides.

CONS - Wish there were more parts being reviewed

Tigerdirect official channel of the computer shop TigerDirect

PROS - Many video reviews of interesting products and some buying tips.

CONS - Sicne Logan left I have unsubscribed, the hosts right now aren't that good compared to Logan.

Lockergnome - Another video reviews and computer discussion.

PROS - A lot of videos discussing many comptuer related issues and questions, a lot of people subscribed meaning he appeals to a lot of people.

There are some good computer advice by a knowledgeable compuer guy.

CONS - Personally I don't like this channel, the videos are boring in my opinion and I don't agree with some of his opinions, often the videos feel like the guy over discuss a certain topic, buy hey this is a personal opinion of mine, you could think different and that's fine.

My own YouTube channel is pretty boring, I sometimes upload a boring gameplay of some game I recorded and sometimes I upload a video about some hardware part I have or part I have problems with.
