Geforce GTX 280 freeze solution

If your computer locks up with a discolored picture when you start playing a game or when you run a graphic intensive application then the problem could be the video card.

The problem I experience was that on a cold boot the computer would work fine until I start playing a game like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or any game that uses the graphic card.
If I reset the computer it would freeze again, it worked fine after turning it off and back on then it would work fine until the next time start the computer after it been off for few hours.

The cause of this problem was found to be the ASUS Nvidia Geforce GTX 280, the computer store KSP replaced it for me with a Zotac GTX 285 which is running fine now for over a month and the problem didn't happen again.
