What's new in Modern Warfare 3?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is coming out November 2011.

However, despite the fact it been over 4 years since 2007 Call of Duty 4 we are still getting a new game in the COD series that uses a DirectX 9 graphic engine.

To say it simply:

Call of Duty 4 - 2007 - DX9 graphinc engine
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 - 2009 - DX9 graphinc engine
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 - 2011 - DX9 graphinc engine

They all have the same graphics and yet the game price will be 60$ for what is basically the same game with new maps and the continuation of the same story.

One of the problems is of coure the consoles, the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 have the graphic technology from the year 2006.

Let's go through what is new in MW3:

New graphics? No
Large number of players? No
New game modes? No, we get survival (which is exactly the same as zombie).
Vehicles in multiplayer? Probably not (killstreak choppers don't count as usable vehicles).

Also, Infinity Ward, the original developer of Call of Duty is not the same company, most of the people who made the last game have left the company, meaning that Modern Warfare 3 is being made by a developer who has not yet proved it can deliver a good game.

Now compare Modern Warfare 3 to Battlefield 3 which will be released around 2 weeks before MW3 in October 25/27 2011.

Battlefield 3 has:

New graphics? Yes, DirectX 11 graphic engine with destruction
Vehicles? Yes
Large maps? Yes
Large number of players? Yes

Both games haven't come out yet but on paper Battlefield 3 looks like the better choice to spend your time online.
