Valve has become greedy with Steam

Steam, Valve's innovative store to buy games for download, during it's inception Valve was invovled in a legal fight with their greedy publisher Sierra owned by Vivendi, at the time Valve appeared as the small developer fighting the big greedy corporation for the right to get their fair share of the profits.

In the beginning of Steam Valve has said it will help small developers sell their games on Steam, finally small developers will have a place to sell their games without having to bare the price of getting involved with a publisher who will take a lot of their profits.

Today it seems Valve has forgetton this philosophy, and once again small developers can't truly get their games on the Steam store.

I know of two examples, S2Games with Heroes of Newerth and Riot with League of Legends, both are free to play games which are on the rise and yet you can't get them on Steam.

Why is that happening? Has Valve become greedy and are blocking uprising developers to compete with Valve's soon to be released Dota 2? Personally I think Heroes of Newerth is a better game than Dota 2, is Valve trying to give Dota 2 an edge to be the only moba game on Steam?

DotA 2 will enjoy Steam large audience and it will be helpful to Dota 2 not to have it's competitors on Steam therefore many players will never know that there are good free alternatives to Dota 2 because many players only know games that are available on Steam.

I made this topic on Steam general discussion and it was deleted after a day without any message to me on why it was deleted.

Valve, Gabe Newell, take a look on what is happening, you have become exactly like Vivendi, doing the same practice they did and also blocking any disucssion about this on your community forums.
